Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh received the Italian Raoul Follereau Association (AIFO)’s Vice President Luigi Gravina on November 10.

Two side talked about the AIFO-funded community-based rehabilitation (CBR) project carried out in four districts of An Nhon, Tay Son, Phu My, and Hoai Nhon from 2008-10 with the total capital of over VND2.2 billion, of which the province contributes VND176 million.

The project partly changed some people’s viewpoint on the disabled, encouraging them to pay more attention to disabled persons and creating more favorable conditions for disabled people to join social activities.

Provincial Vice Chairwoman Binh highly appreciated the AIFO’s support and asked AIFO to continue supporting disabled people in Binh Dinh.

AIFO’s Vice President Luigi Gravina said the association will implement a new project in Binh Dinh from 2011-12, aiming to improve the effectiveness of the CBR project. The rehabilitation and vocational training for the disabled will play main roles in the new project.
