Blind vocational trainees to enjoy subsidies

Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee has just permitted the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) to assist blind people who are pursuing vocational training courses at quotas set by Vietnam Blind Association. Accordingly, DoLISA will execute a policy on short term promotion of vocational learning and spend 2010 estimated fund for vocational promotion on travel allowances and tuition fees (150.000 VND/person/month) for the blind vocational trainees.

The blind trainees will also receive subsidies for food, accommodation and tuition fees as regulated in the joint Circular No. 19 dated on May 19, 2005 by Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment. The circular guides on implementation of the Decree No. 81 by Prime Minister detailing and guiding a number of articles of Labour Law on Disabled workers.
