Vietnam wood processing industry finds ways to access European market

A workshop “Impact of FLEGT on export to European market – Opportunities and threats to Vietnam wood processing enterprises” was co-organized by Quy Nhon-based Vietnam Chamber of Commercial and Industry (VCCI) -Da Nang Branch, Vietnam – EU Business Forum and Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association on November 18 at Quy Nhon City.

Nearly 100 participant enterprises from all over the province were introduced by experts about key content of the new Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade (FLEGT) which would take effect by 2012. The enterprises were expected to understand about the new FLEGT regulations so that they could expand their exports of timber and wood products to EU market, increase their abilities of adaptation to requirements of this market about legality of the wood products.
