National Tourism Year 2011 to be hosted in Phu Yen

A press briefing took place in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen Province on December 5, announcing the National Tourism Year 2011 under the theme of “Visit Vietnam Year – Phu Yen 2011: Exotic Beach and Island”.

The National Tourism Year programme which will take place in eight cities and provinces in the south-central coastal region, starting from Da Nang city to Binh Thuan province. 

Over 30 cultural, sport and tourism events including an Asian music festival, an international choir festival, a fireworks display contest, a yacht racing, and the Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange will be held within the framework of the programme.

Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee planned to respond to the event in November. Accordingly, a national folk song and bai choi festival is expected to be held in Quy Nhon on March 31, 2011. Also, the province’s bodies will join some cultural and sporting events taking place in Phu Yen next year.
