Binh Dinh sees high rate of MDR-TB patients

Binh Dinh is one of 14 provinces and cities seeing the highest rate of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients, according to the province’s hospital for tuberculosis and lung disease.

As for new pulmonary TB patients with positive AFB, the figure is 54 while there are 34 cases related to the retreatment pulmonary TB ones.

Each MDR-TB patient will infect 10 people with pulmonary tuberculosis and run the high risk of becoming MDR-TB patient if they are not treated annually.
