A ceremony to launch an action month for food safety and hygiene was held in Quy Nhon city on April 11.

Attending the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh said the food safety affects not only each person’s health but the socio-economic development.

However, the food safety and hygiene hasn’t been given much attention because most food suppliers and individuals are not well aware of their responsibility in ensuring the food safety, she emphasized.

Binh asked the province’s Department of Health to closely coordinate with relevant bodies to effectively manage the food safety and hygiene.

She also reminded the provincial IZs management board and functional agencies to monitor food suppliers, ensuring that they follow the regulations on food safety and hygiene.
