The Quy Nhon city environmental sanitation project has being implemented and about 60-70 percent of its first phase was finished. The second phase is also ready for the implementation.

However, a large sum of nearly 77 million USD is required for the second phase, according to the feasibility report of the second phase. Both phases ask for a total of 95.6 million USD.

The People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province has, thus, petitioned the Central ministries, bodies, and the World Bank to add more 38.4 million USD, of which the International Development Association's (IDA) finances 34.56 million USD, to the project.

The Quy Nhon city environmental sanitation project is aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure, environmental sanitation, and city dwellers’ living standard to meet its demand for development.

The initial expenditure for the project is 57.2 million USD, including 16.8 million for the first phase.
