Binh Dinh honours blood donors

The province’s Steering Board for Humanitarian Blood Donation and Mobilisation organized a meeting to honour typical blood donors across the province on June 14.

Statistics showed there are 12,000 blood donors in Binh Dinh last year, collecting more than 2,311 units, a rise of 20.2 percent over 2008, and 6,030 gave their blood with 1,200 units in the first five months this year.

The humanitarian blood act has widely spread in many localities and residential areas, such as districts of Hoai An, Tay Son, Phu My, and Vinh Thanh and other provincial bodies.

10 organizations and bodies and 6 individuals who reaped excellent achievements in the humanitarian blood donation movement were honoured.
