4,000-hectare area of concentrated planted forest to be realized in 2010

The province sets itself a goal of planting 4,000 hectares of new concentrated planted forest, including protective forest, landscape conservation forest, coastal wetland forest and productive forest, said Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Up to this time, forestation agencies and localities all over the province have set aside a total area of more than 5,900 hectares as forestland, planning to grow 3,122 hectares of planted forest.

In addition, 9.6 millions of forest seedlings out of the total 41.7 millions seedlings of all kinds have been nursed, satisfying demand of seedlings for afforestation.

Relevant authorized agencies has already organized the first round of the forest care in 2010 for 8,894 hectares, in which 2,037 hectares are protective forest and landscape conservation forest, and 6,856 hectares of productive forest.
