14:30', 26/7/ 2010 (GMT+7)

The People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province has petitioned the Ministry of Transport to allow the Thi Nai seaport joint stock company to upgrade the Thi Nai wharf, aiming to receive ships of up to 10000 DWT.

The upgrade is suitable to the PM’s Decision No 2190/QD-TTg on approving scheme for developing Vietnam’s seaports system until 2020 with a view to 2030.

Under the scheme, the Thi Nai and Quy Nhon seaports belong to the southern central seaport group-group 4- from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan.

The upgrade of Thi Nai wharf is aimed at improving its capacity, creating favorable conditions for importers and exporters in Binh Dinh as well as the central and Central Highlands regions.

At present, the wharf has the total length of 286 meters but it is seriously deteriorating.
