5 in 1 vaccine offered to children under-one

Children under one year old in all localities in Binh Dinh will be fully vaccinated with a new five-in-one vaccine from now to late July

As many as 75,079 doses of the five-in-one vaccine are required for 21,887 children under the age of one across the central province of Binh Dinh this year.

Six districts of Tuy Phuoc, An Nhon, Hoai Nhon, Phu Cat, Phu My, and Tay Son were selected for the new vaccination programme last month.

The vaccine, which protects against the five diseases of diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and haemophilus influenza type B, has been supplied by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation.
