SPELL to offer over US$53,000 to poor students

The East Meets West Foundation (EMW)-funded scholarship Program to Enhance Literacy and Learning (SPELL) will continue to offer a financial aid worth US$53,765 to poor students in three districts of Phu My, Van Canh, and An Lao in the new academic year of 2010-2011.

Under the program, 505 primary and junior high school students and 92 senior high school 0nes will be provided with school fees, books, uniforms, and other expenses. The scholarships also mandate and pay for after-school tutoring, let alone 102 bicycles for junior high school students.

The officials who are in charge of the SPELL program at the study promotion associations of all levels and senior high schools will also be aided.
