Doctors of Binh Dinh General Hospital are giving emergency aid to a supposed patient with swine flu –induced syndrome of serious respiratory degradation at a makeshift hospital. |
A dress rehearsal for combating against the swine flu (type A-H5N1) pandemic was held by Binh Dinh’s steering board for human influenza pandemic prevention and control in Quy Nhon city on August 29.
Doctors, healthcare officers, public security officers, and para-military civil defence force were involved in the rehearsal. The steering board and its mobile teams co-coordinately acted an at-site flu pandemic control plan as in a simulated situation.
The rehearsal aimed to increase the capacity of the steering board in facilitating and responding to real situations, in inter-agency co-operation with Department of Health, Binh Dinh-based healthcare services, including those of public security and military forces.
Any flu epidemic breakout reported at communities should be promptly controlled and stamped out to minimize the human losses. Through the rehearsal, the steering boards of all levels drew out experiences and improve their action plans on swine flu pandemic and the propagation campaigns to raise people’s awareness of the deadly flu pandemic in humans.
The Department of Health recorded the rehearsal as a training material for doctors and medical officers at grass roots level.
