A large amount of breeding lobsters, mainly blue lobster, have appeared in waters of Quy Nhon City’s Ghenh Rang ward from mid-August.
The local fishermen has caught 40.000 blue lobsters which has average price VND42.000 per lobster and gained a profit of over VND1.6 billion, according to Quy Nhon City’s Department of Economics.
These were out-of-season breeding lobsters because the breeding lobsters recently only appears in Binh Dinh and neighbouring provinces Quang Ngai, Phu Yen’s waters from January to late June.
However, only 55.000 breeding lobsters have been caught during the harvest, accounting for 10.7 percent against the same period last year.
