500 ha-forest newly planted in Phu My

Over 500 hectares of forest is expected to be newly grown in Phu My district during the 2010 Autumn-Winter crop, according to the district’s Agriculture and Rural Development Office.

Among them, 150 hectares belongs to the locals, 150 hectares are of Project WB3, and 204 hectares are of Project 661.

In preparation for the afforestation, 830,000 seedlings of casuarinas and hybrid acacia were planted. The Quy Nhon Afforestation Co., Ltd also offered 250.000 seedlings of hybrid acacia to its communes.

The forest planning, vegetation treatment and preparation for seedlings have basically completed.
