Some local inshore fishermen have had bumper harvests of breeding lobsters recently, according to Vice Chairman of Nhon Ly commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Danh.

The local fishermen have caught nearly 1,000 breeding lobsters, mainly orated spiny lobsters which are more valuable than blue lobsters.

The average price of a breeding lobsters of the early crop is VND150.000, VND20,000-30,000 higher than the same period last year, providing a total of roughly VND150 million for local fishermen.

These are out-of-season breeding lobsters as they often only appear in Binh Dinh and neighboring provinces of Quang Ngai and Phu Yen from January to late June.
