40,290 ha of new forest planted since 1990

Binh Dinh has successfully implemented the national program of five million hectare afforestation since 1990 until now, stated the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

So far, 40,290 ha of new forest have been planted with at least 85 percent of trees alive. The protection and special use forests make up 12,774 ha/12,263ha, achieving 85 percent of the target and production forest accounts for 27,516 ha/24,692ha, getting 111 percent of the target.

The forest allocation policy has also been carried out well. 426,170.19 ha of forest land have been allocated to 2,650 beneficiaries of the project. The planted forests are under good management, giving high economic value.
