182,884 cows and buffaloes all over Binh Dinh have been so far inoculated against foot-and-mouth disease this year, accounting for 63% of total heads of cattle at the province, says Mr. Nguyen Van Quoc, deputy head of Binh Dinh Department of Veterinary.

3 mountainous districts of Vinh Thanh, Van Canh and An Lao have already finished the inoculation against the foot-and-mouth disease for their herds of cows and buffaloes.

The department and local governments are keeping their efforts of mobilizing local veterinarians to help local farmers inoculate the cattle, disinfect breeding facilities as mean of disease prevention and control. The task is expected to complete by the end of this October.

Binh Dinh People’s Committee allocates 2.5 billion VND from its budget to cover costs of vaccines for the cattle.
