Quy Nhon city Bureau of Economics has guided communes of Dong Da, Tran Phu and Hai Cang to establish new fishing teams and consolidate the old ones since the beginning of 2011. 17 fishing teams with 52 fishing boats, mainly offshore boats, have been formed so far.
The fishing teams enable fishermen mutually help one another during the fishing: identifying fish-shoals and catch fish together so that productivity and efficiency gained are 10-15% higher than the individual-basis fishing practice before; reciprocally assist one another in transportation and sale of the products, in supply of materials, fuel, drinking water so that production costs decrease, in natural disaster prevention and control, in marine search and rescue missions, etc.
