Rainfall all over Binh Dinh from the beginning of 2011 has so far reached 60-80% of the averaged annual precipitation over years, says Binh Dinh Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. This leads to lack of water at reservoirs and consequently cause water shortage for agriculture in 2012.
Rainfall at An Hoa commune (An Lao district) is 2,736mm, equal to 87% of the averaged annual precipitation; at Hoai An district is 1,767mm or 76%, at Bong Son town (Hoai Nhon district) is 1,546mm or 68%, at Phu My district 1,389mm or 67%, at Phu Cat district 1,220mm or 63%, at Thanh Hoa commune (An Nhon district) 1,119mm or 59%, at Van Canh district 1,784mm or 80%, at Quy Nhon city 1,253mm or 66%...Main reservoirs in Binh Dinh are just 70-80% full. Nui Mot Reservoir at An Nhon district has 73/110 million cubic metres; Hoi Son Reservoir at Phu Cat has 38/44.5 million cubic metres; Thuan Ninh Reservoir at Tay Son district has 32/35.36 million cubic metres; Van Hoi Reservoir at Hoai An district has 9.5/14.5 million cubic metres.
