After 9 matches, Nguyen Thi Thuy Trien got 5 points, ranking number 27 out of 84 chess players taking part in women's championship for U16 at The World Youth Chess Championship 2011 which is held in Brazilian Caldas Novas city from November 16-28.

Trien is among 5 Vietnamese chess players joining the event, including Vo Thi Kim Phung (women's championship for U18), Nguyen Huynh Minh Thien (men's championship for U18), Tran Vuong Mai Khanh (women's championship for U8), Nguyen Tan Hoang (men's championship for U12).

Tran Vuong Mai Khanh won the a silver medal for women's championship for U8.
