390 ha of mangrove swamp to be newly planted

More than 390 hectares of mangrove swamp will be newly grown in coastal districts of Phu My, Phu Cat, Tuy Phuoc, and Quy Nhon city from now to 2020, according to the mangrove swamp protection and afforestation approved by provincial People’s Committee.

Initially, 338 hectares of mangrove swamp will be planted in communes of My Chanh, My Cat, Cat Minh, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Thuan, and Nhon Binh ward until 2015.

Alongside this, over 460 hectares of mangrove swamp will also be protected.

The planning aims to build a system of mangrove swamp to stably and sustainably protect the environment.

A sum of VND23.3 billion is expected to be spent on the planning.
