Vietnam's first Forest Product Festival will be held in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, from March 26-29, and will feature more than 100 domestic and foreign businesses.

It is being organised by the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (Viforest) and aims to promote co-operation and investment between domestic and foreign businesses in the field.

Visitors will be introduced to different kinds of wood used for fine arts, interior decoration and building, along with numerous other forest products on display in more than 500 booths at the festival.

Under the theme 'Vietnamese Forest Products; Integration and Sustainable Development,' the festival will include a variety of activities such as trade promotions and fairs, seminars, competitions and art performances.

The event will also affirm the continuous development of the Vietnamese forestry product industry and open a new door for national integration and development.

Vietnam earned US$3.4 billion from timber and wood product exports in 2010 and the sector plans to achieve US$4 billion in 2011.
