The Health Department on Mar. 22 held a meeting to fully review the “Capacity building for the grass roots medical system in some key provinces” project funded by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI).

Under the project, Binh Dinh Medical College was assigned to open 7 courses for medical workers at grass roots level and 6 short-term courses on reproductive health, maternal and child health care, and immunisation practices.

Also, two courses on the “Health Management Information System” (HMIS) software were opened, helping the medical staff at medical clinics in An Nhon district to effectively use the software.

Binh Dinh will be funded more than 1.4 billion VND to carry out activities, aiming to improve the capacity of medical workers at grass roots level until 2011. Alongside this, the medical services at grass roots medical clinics will also be expanded.
