A workshop on evaluation of enhancing biosafety breeding facilities in backyard poultry farms was held on March 28.
The workshop was part of the sub-project “Raising community awareness of avian flu prevention and control; establishing family-scale biosafety breeding models”. It was held by the sub-project management board, Binh Dinh Province Women Union.
8 farmer families at 2 suburban districts of Tay Son and An Nhon were funded with 64 million VND from the sub-project to upgrade their biosafety breeding facilities.
At the workshop, the farmer families shared their experiences and opinions to draft biosafety standards for family-scale poultry farming; expected to get more funds to better upgrade the biosafety breeding facilities, to expand the fund coverage to other farmer families at other localities in Binh Dinh province, to establish mutual experience-exchange groups of biosafety breeding practices.
