The Action Month for Food Safety was launched in Quy Nhon on April 3. The program is scheduled to start from April 15 to May 15.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh emphasized this is an urgent issue as the food safety has still faced many challenges.
According to the statistics, the food poisoning is now a complicated issue. It is always a major threat to the community while many food manufacturers don’t meet requirements for hygiene.
Binh said that ensuring the food safety plays a core role in preventing some epidemics, particularly digestive disorders.
She asked the functional bodies and localities to strengthen the activities to ensure the food safety, strictly monitor the food production. The manufacturers were also required to follow the regulations.
