Socio-economic situation slowly grows in 1st quarter

A meeting on the province’s socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2011 and upcoming tasks was held on April 4. Provincial Chairman Le Huu Loc chaired the meeting.

According the reports, the socio-economic situation slowly grew in the first quarter of 2011, 3 percent lower than the growth rate of the same period last year.

The local GDP reached nearly VND2 trillion, an increase of 7.2 percent against the previous year’s corresponding period. The agro-forestry-aquatic production, industry, and construction saw a rise of 2 percent, 10 percent, and 8.5 percent respectively.

Also, the province’s export turnover only gained more than US$119 million, a decrease of 5.6 percent over the same period of 2010. The cultural-social activities saw positive changes, the people’s living standard is stable, and the public order is under control.

Provincial Chairman Loc asked all bodies and agencies to focus on the key tasks, such as the implementation of the Government’s resolution No.11 and solutions on agricultural production and poultry epidemic.
