These farmers were financially supported as they’ve participated in the program “Giving farmers strength to let children go to school” sponsored by GreenFeed Vietnam Company and committed to the local authorities that they will not allow their kids to quit schools.

Under the program, 180 families in Binh Dinh, Long An, and Hung Yen are able to receive the support in two years (2011-2013). The total capital for the three provinces is VND2.1 billion.

The loans will be refunded after two years. Apart from the loans totaling VND600 million, GreenFeed Vietnam also donated its products being animal feed worth VND100 million to the farmers.

Provincial Vice Chairman Mai Thanh Thang highly appreciated the program, helping poor farmers eliminate hunger and reduce poverty as well as encouraging their children to continue studying.

He hoped that there will be more and more provinces benefiting from the program.
