Provincial leaders and the representatives of functional bodies, local authorities grow trees after the launching ceremony.

The national week on clean water and environmental sanitation in rural areas was launched in Phu Cat district’s Ngo May town on April 26.

Thanks to different financial aids, 120 water supply systems and thousands of wells were built across the central province of Binh Dinh, helping 85.7 percent of rural people access clean water.

However, many areas are still facing the shortage of clean water as well as the inefficient management of environment protection.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, provincial Vice Chairman Mai Thanh Thang asked all functional bodies to coordinate with the local authorities to strengthen the propagation, raising the people’s awareness of the importance of clean water and environmental sanitation in rural areas.

He said that rural people should be offered chances to take out preferential loan to build water supply system at home.
