The province’s socio-economic situation saw positive changes in April, but the growth rate was not stable, according to the report presented at meeting chaired by provincial Vice Chairman Ho Quoc Dung on May 9.

The report showed the industrial production value earned nearly VND670 billion in April, an increase of 19.1 percent and the export turnover reached US$40.6 million, a decrease of 5.2 percent.

Also, the total retail sales value of goods and services was estimated at VND2,343 billion, a rise of 25.7 percent against the same period last year.

The consumer price index (CPI) in April soared 3.88 percent, making it the highest month-on-month increase in the past ten years. Socio-economic situation had positive changes while the national defense, security as well as public order are under control.

Provincial Vice Chairman Dung asked relevant bodies to focus on the preparation for the upcoming elections of the 13th National Assembly and the People’s Councils at all levels.

He also steered functional bodies to foster export, industrial production, wood processing, and such key goods as sugar and cassava starch.

The saving target of an additional ten percent of frequent expenditure, the increase of budget revenue, and other issues were mentioned at the meeting.
