The Department of Natural Resources and Environment on May 10 was assigned to coordinate with Phu Cat district People’s Committee to prepare for activities responding to the World Environment Day (June 5), International Day of Biological Diversity and International Year of Forest.
Accordingly, the functional bodies will organize different activities to raise the people’s awareness of environmental pollution, climate change, and other relevant issues.
The propaganda activities are expected to encourage people to reduce the use of non-renewable natural resources, voluntarily join available environment protection programs.
The campaign is also aimed at encouraging local residents to follow the laws on environment protection and biological diversity as well as carry out programs on afforestation and forest protection.
