According to the report, 79 voluntary blood donation programs were launched last year, attracting more than 17,000 blood donors. In the first five months of 2011, there were also 33 voluntary blood donation campaigns, collecting over 1,219 litres of blood for treatment.
Many bodies and localities have actively responded to the voluntary blood donation movement, such as districts of Hoai An, Hoai Nhon, Tay Son, Phu My, and Vinh Thanh, Quy Nhon University, or Binh Dinh Labor Federation.
*Doan Van Nhut, the secretary of the youth union of Lai Khanh hamlet, Hoai Duc commune in Hoai Nhon district was honored at the ceremony for blood donors held in Ha Noi on June 12.
