Water supply system to be built at Binh Thuan commune, Tay Son district

Binh Dinh Centre for Rural Clean Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation (CERWASS) was assigned to implement the project of building a water supply system at Binh Thuan commune, Tay Son district, in 2011.

The project includes components: overall complex (5 wells, 5 underground pumps, pipe system connecting the wells to water treatment complex); the water treatment complex (aeration plant for alum removal, clarifier, filter, chemical disinfection of water, clean water reservoir, operation management office, control system and electricity system for lighting); transformer station and low-voltage lines for the water pumping and the water treatment operation; pipes for clean water distribution and water-service pipes. The water treatment plant is designed to supply 2,900 cubic metre/day and night for about 27,500 target beneficiaries.

The centre is cooperating with the local government to carry out community-based meetings on assessment of the water need.
