The Russian-Vietnamese oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro has just announced that it is carrying out its gas and oil exploration and exploitation at plot 04-3, which is about 250km away from Vietnam’s southern coastal provinces. The company is renting an Essa Wildcat oil-rig to explore TU-5X oil well at Thien Ung oil field (j=08o30’29,602’’N; l= 108o46’58,381’’E). Vietsovpetro asks all of ships not to travel or practice fishing within a 2-nautical-mile radius of the oil-rig edges with following specific co-ordinate points: A - North: 08001’11’’, East 108045’01’; B - 08031’09’’, 108049’23’’; C - 08035’29’’, 108049’25’’ and D - 08035’31’’, 108045’03’’.
Fishermen and marine vehicles should learn the above information to ensure marine safety for the gas and oil exploration and exploitation by Vietsovpetro at the plot 04-3.
