Over 7,600 households climb out of poverty

The final report on five-year National Target Program of Poverty Reduction in Binh Dinh (2006-2010) states that after 5 years of the program implementation, number of poor households (as poverty line in Decision No. 170 by Prime Minister on 8th July, 2005) in the province reduced to 27,381 (7.23 percent) by the end of 2010. On average, more than 7,600 households climb out of poverty every year.

Rate of the poor households in Binh Dinh is expected to fell down under 8 percent by 2015. The average rate during the period 2011-2015 is expected to decrease at 2 percent on annual basis (as poverty line of 2011-2015 set by the central government). The figure in extremely poor districts, hamlets and villages is about 4-5 percent. Total investment for the program in Binh Dinh in 2011-2015 is over 7,143 billion VND.
