More 49 communes have joined the Project of Population Quality Improvement via communication campaigns, early identification and intervention for embryos and newborn babies with potential diseases this year, said Binh Dinh Office for Population and Family Planning.
Of 49 localities, 24 communes from 4 districts of Tuy Phuoc, Phu Cat, Phu My and Hoai Nhon are newly-participated beneficiaries. Thus, 114 communes all over the province have so far joined the project.
Binh Dinh is trying to reach 2011 targets of 25 percent embryo screening tests for pregnant women and 10.8 percent for the newborn babies.
