The July’s consumer price index (CPI) went up by 0.91 percent over the previous month, according to the province’s Statistics Office.
The most significant increase was seen in food, generating 2.8 percent, followed by drugs and health services, up 0.69 percent. Meanwhile garment, household goods and appliances posted an increase of 0.26 percent. Power, gas, and construction material saw a 0.09 percent increase.
The authorities’ effort has kept the July’s CPI below 1 percent but the growth rate was higher than in June. This showed that CPI in the next months may be higher if measures to curb inflation are not effectively implemented.
