On July 22, Hoai Nhon district People’s Committee celebrated the 80th anniversary of the protest at milestone 7 Tai Luong (23 July, 1931-2011) at Hoai Thanh Tay commune, Hoai Nhon district. On this occasion, the historical site was granted the Certificate of National Historical Monument.

At the celebration, Chairman of Hoai Nhon People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Viet reviewed undaunted struggles of Hoai Nhon people before and after the protest, which attracted 3,000 local residents from northern communes of Hoai Nhon and shook the then French colonial rule.

The protest was a typical example of fighting spirits of Vietnamese farmers and workers during the 1930-1931 Revolutionary Uprising; shown strong will and determination of Hoai Nhon people in particular and Binh Dinh people in general to protect and maintain the revolutionary activities in the most difficult and violent days.

The recognition of the milestone 7 Tai Luong as the National Historical Monument is a worthy acknowledgement to the historic event made by people and Communist Party in the central region of Vietnam 80 years ago. It helps to preserve and treasure historical value of the time, educate young generations of revolutionary tradition of Vietnamese people.
