Municipal People’s Council review tasks in first half of 2011

The 2nd session of Quy Nhon City People’s Council (10th tenure) opened on July 27, reviewing the city’s socio-economic, security and defensive task performance in the first six months of 2011 and drawing out plan for the second half of 2011.

According to the council’s evaluation, in the first half of 2011, Quy Nhon maintained its growth. Its GDP was 12.53 percent higher than the previous year’s corresponding period but at lower speed in comparison with the same period of 2010.

The reports also showed cultural and social activities developed, social security was secured, people’s living standard was basically ensured, national defense was strengthened and political security, social order and safety were protected well. In addition, elections of the 13th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2011-2016 term were successfully organized.

The participants discussed the city’s task performance. They are having discussions at great hall today (July 28).

The session is planned to close tomorrow.
