2,491 households in Quy Nhon likely evacuated in cases of storms and floods

Quy Nhon city has just announced its 2011 plans on storm and flood response, disaster risk reduction. Accordingly, the city has 2,491 households with 9,756 people who live in temporarily-built houses or live in areas along coasts, dike edges or in low-land, heavy flood-hit, lower section of reservoir regions should be evacuated.

Nhon Ly commune has 286 households with 1,370 people. Dong Da ward has 371 households with 1,007 people. Le Loi ward has 301 households with 1,492 people. Nhon Hai commune has 196 households with 877 people. Hai Cang ward has 289 households with 628 people. Phuoc My commune has 93 households with 427 people, etc.

The city prefers options of at-site evacuation. People should be evacuated to safer places at concrete schools, administrative offices of local governments. Groups of youth ready for action should be established to help the potential evacuation.
