2012 plan on environmental protection in Binh Dinh

Binh Dinh People’s Committee has just announced Plan No. 05/KH-UBND on 2012 environmental protection in Binh Dinh province.

Accordingly, reports on investment to environmental pollution control at 2 hospitals will be made and submitted to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for potential fund allocation. 2 automatic environmental assessment stations will be set up; construction costs of water treatment system at Ngai Chanh traditional rice vermicelli production village, An Nhon district will be partly covered; cleaner production methods will be applied in animal husbandry; surveys on solid waste control will be carried out; proposals on financial assistance to worst polluted facilities for their treatments will be made, etc. Meanwhile, businesses and production facilities who are likely to cause environmental pollutions will be closely monitored, inspected and punished. Regular environmental assessments will be conducted.

In field of solid waste management, the province will allocate more funds for purchases of means to collect and carry the solid wastes to dumps; funds for operations of the solid waste incineration facilities and treatments systems for medical waste water. The province will carry out surveys on domestic wastes and pilot program on waste separation at source at 4 wards of Quy Nhon city. Provincial action plans on biodiversity conservation will be implemented. Capacity building program on environmental management and the national target program for climate change adaptation will be realized.
