The model of “pre-marital counseling and health screening” is being carried out at 9 more communes and wards of Binh Dinh in 2011.

The beneficiary localities include wards of Genh Rang and Quang Trung, Quy Nhon city; Tuy Phuoc town and Phuoc Thuan commune, Tuy Phuoc district; Binh Dinh town, An Nhon district; communes of Cat Nhon and Cat Son, Phu Cat district; My Cat commune, Phu My district and Hoai My commune, Hoai Nhon district.

Total 20 localities of Binh Dinh have implemented the program so far.

Activities of the program are integrated into another model of “providing more information and services on reproductive health and family planning for adolescents and youth”.

The two models aim to raise awareness and skills of the target individuals about the reproductive health and family planning through services of counseling and health screening for the adolescents, the young people and those who are going to get married. As results, population quality will be expectedly improved.
