An estimated over-30-kg male python recticulatus was captured by Vo Van Ngoc while he was herding his goats at Son Trieu mountain on August 15. The animal was over 2m in length, 30cm in diameter.

Ngoc’s goats had recently disappeared for unknown reasons. He kept watch on the herd and found out that there was no goat thief and but suspected predators – pythons.

There might be another hiding python which would be probably 2 times bigger than the captured animal at the same site, said Ngoc.
