A campaign of treating bed nets with insecticide to limit malaria has been recently launched by Vinh Thanh district agency for hygiene & epidemic prevention – malaria prevention & control and grassroots healthcare clinics.

79 litres of insecticide were used to treat 16.000 bed nets of 6,289 local households, in which 14,500 were double bed nets, accounting for 91percent of such existing nets. Some localities got high percentages of the bed net insecticide treatment, including Vinh Thinh (112 percent), Vinh Thuan (99 percent), Vinh Hiep (97 percent), Vinh Thanh town (95 percent).

The agency also organized a lot of communication campaigns to show the local people, particularly the ethnic minority communities, ways of using the insecticide-treated bed nets and necessity to clear bushes for sake of malaria control at the district.
