From now to the end of this year, 1,000 offshore fishing boats which often exploit sea resources in Vietnamese territorial waters of the Spratly Islands, the Paracel Islands and DK1 are partly assisted with fuel for their fishing trips, announces Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The policy of providing the offshore fishermen with fuel is on the basis of Decision No. 48 by Prime Minister.

From July to November, 200 fishing boats are provided fuel every month. In December, the Department will subsidize fuel for more boats if have.

The Department has just checked thousands of over 90-CV offshore fishing boats and submitted a list of the beneficiary boats to the provincial People’s Committee for approval. 1,600 boats are first beneficiaries of the policy.
