Standing Committee of Binh Dinh Communist Youth Union has just guided its branches to organize activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary the Ho Chi Minh Trail on Sea (October 23, 1961 – October 23, 2011).
The branches will hold forums and contests for their youth members, teenagers to learn about United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982, the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, etc.
Moreover, the provincial Communist Youth Union at all levels will also organize other seas and land oriented activities: visit, take care and offer gifts to families under preferential treatment policies in islands or coastal areas, navy veterans in needs of help; build houses for ex-crews of the so-called “fleets without license plates” in war; grant scholarships for children of the veterans, of navy officials and soldiers in difficult financial situations, children from families whose members are in missions at seas and islands, children from poor fishermen families.
The Union will step up implementation of the existing campaigns of “Sentimental attachment for borders and islands”, “Collect stones to build the Spratly Island”, “Accompany fishermen to head for the open sea” and raise fund to build memorial statute of martyr Phan Vinh at the Spratly Islands.
