HIV infection rate among working age groups rises

HIV infection rate among working age groups (20 - 49) is on the rise in Binh Dinh, accounting for 86.66 percent of HIV-positive people all over the province, announces the provincial Centre for HIV/AIDS prevention and control.

Binh Dinh now has 760 cases of HIV infection, 468 cases of developing into AIDS and another 306 dead cases. Out of which, 2.04 percent of the total cases is under 13; 2.04 percent at the age of 13-19; 6.26 percent is more than 50; the rest 86.66 percent is at the age of 20-49. 

HIV infection rate among 100,000 people in Binh Dinh is 0.046 percent.

93/159 communes, municipal wards and towns have reported cases of HIV/AIDS, in which 67.35 percent is among men and 32.65 percent is among women.
