In the last 5 years (2006-2010), 121,247 students from poor families or ethnic minority families in Binh Dinh were waived of all or portions of tuition fees and other studying costs, says Binh Dinh Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Total of the fees and costs waived reached over 10.7 billion VND under the policy of educational assistance for the poor people.

In addition, 19,560 poor students were offered notebooks, textbooks and pens which were worth 2.582 billion VND in total.

The policy did leave good impacts on the poor beneficiaries, creating favourable conditions for them to go to school, easing burdens of studying on them.
