Binh Dinh’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.85 percent in August compared with the previous month and increased by 24.75 percent in comparison with the same period last year, according to the provincial statistical office.

Among consumption categories, only telecom services fell 0.08 percent and transport services dropped 0.02 percent in comparison with last month.

The food category increased 1.92 percent. The remaining categories including food, housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials, garment, education, instruments and services saw month-on-month increases of less than 1 percent.

August’s CPI continues to grow at relatively rapid pace but is slower than the 0.91 percent pace of July. This proves the efficiency of the local authorities and Government’s measures to curb inflation.
