Nguyen Nhat Duyen, a fifth-grader of No.1 primary school at Dieu Tri town of Tuy Phuoc district, won the first prize at the “Children’s Ideas” contest launched by Honda Vietnam with the idea of “snail” tourist bus.

Talking about her idea, Duyen said, “When going to Ham Ho tourism site with my parents, I saw a snail creeping nearby. At that time, I suddenly thought about a similar bus which could help everyone go sightseeing at all areas.”

“I think that it will be very convenient as not all are able to walk when they want to enjoy landscapes which are difficult to access.

However, Duyen wondered if her idea was feasible or not; thus, she asked for advice from her parents and teachers. She started her work under her teacher’s instructions.

After one week, she finished the job and sent the model to the contest.

The participant children were asked to draw a picture featuring their thoughts and feelings on the contest and then made models of those ideas. For the final review, they delivered a short presentation about their design.

Duyen performed well and won a trip to Hong Kong and a US$300 scholarship.
